3 elements that affect the printing plate coating process

Under the conditions that the surface of the printed board substrate is clean and the quality of the chemically treated film is excellent, several factors that directly affect the coating process are the choice of paint, construction plan, on-site management, and equipment conditions. So, what are the factors that affect the printing plate coating process?

1. The choice of printing plate paint. The selection of coatings with good quality and matching performance is the basic condition for obtaining high-quality coatings. When choosing a coating, generally consider the workability of the coating, the performance of the coating, and the economic effect.

2. On-site management. Adjust the environmental conditions according to the requirements of the printing plate composite coating construction. For example, ambient temperature, humidity, wind speed, cleanliness of the convective gas in the roll coating chamber, configuration, operating level and proficiency of the operator.

3. Construction plan. The construction plan is to specify a series of coating methods to give full play to the characteristics of the coating after the printing plate coating is selected. For example, the need for pre-coating or post-coating, the speed ratio between the next roll on the coating head and the production line, the viscosity of a good coating, and the curing profile of the coating are all set before coating. Even during the coating process, it needs to be checked and modified to know that the coating film achieves the desired effect.

Generally, the printing plate can be selected according to the standard color of the manufacturer, which can shorten the workload in the early stage of production. If a special color is required, the paint can be produced only after the paint factory prepares the samples and the properties meet the requirements, so the production time from ordering to printing the color-coated board will be longer. The surface gloss of the coating measured at a reflection angle of 60 degrees, the larger the value, the higher the gloss. Coatings used in construction are medium and matte, ranging from 30 to 55. This is because the high-gloss paint has strong reflection and glare to the sunlight in the building; if it is indoors, it is easy to cause visual fatigue under the light at night.

The coating film of the printing plate is baked with synthetic resin paint. When used outdoors, the coating film will gradually deteriorate due to the influence of sunlight, temperature and rain. If you look closely at the surface of the steel plate or touch it with your fingers, you can find white powder. This phenomenon is the chalking of the coating film, which is inevitable. However, choosing a different type of coating can delay the chalking cycle.
