Service life of colored steel plates

Due to the varying uses and environmental conditions of color-coated steel sheets, many factors influence their service life. Based on their functional characteristics, the service life of color-coated steel sheets can be categorized as follows:

Decorative service life refers to the period of time during which the color-coated steel sheet exhibits surface signs of fading, chalking, cracking, and partial coating loss. These conditions affect the building’s image and aesthetics, but do not yet reach the point where the coating loses its protective properties.

Service life refers to the period of time during which a color-coated steel sheet can be used without renovation for extended periods until severe corrosion occurs, rendering it unusable. The recoating service life refers to the period of time during which the color-coated steel sheet exhibits significant surface delamination, rust, and other symptoms, leading to further corrosion of the substrate.
