Hello, welcome to Jiangyin Himei Metal New Material Co., Ltd. website!

How does TPO composite waterproof tile waterproof the ridge of the roof?

The ridge, where the roof slope intersects, is a concentrated target for rain, wind, sand, and ultraviolet rays. Traditional tiles often use mortar grouting or simple overlap at the ridge. Due to seasonal temperature fluctuations, the gaps are prone to cracking, becoming a major leak-prone area.

TPO composite waterproof tiles offer a unique approach to ridge treatment: first, custom metal brackets are used to secure the tile base, ensuring overall structural stability. Then, a TPO waterproofing membrane is cut to size to cover the entire ridge joint. A hot-air welding process fuses the membrane to the tile surface and between the membranes, creating a seamless seal. This welded joint is far stronger than the membrane itself, withstanding extreme temperature fluctuations from -40°C to 120°C. This transforms the roof ridge from a “leakage risk point” into a “waterproof reinforcement area.”
